amazon finds, bargain buys, family, home decor

My husband and I have been married almost four years. We are a proud blended family of five (+ fur baby). We’ve been through a lot and have also done a lot together, but recently we took the leap and bought our forever home this past spring. At least we hope it is. We’ve heard so many people say “I said the same thing, but when the nest is empty, you’ll find yourself wanting to downsize!” Maybe that’s true, but it’s hard to imagine that when our home is homier than anything we’ve ever had.

One of the things we love is having “our” things. It’s kind of surprising to think about all our history together, but we have a few scattered belongings that are still finding their way here, and we still haven’t completely combined everything. So anyway, the point is that we are slowly getting rid of the old and filling our home with things we find together that really make it “us” and I love that. The very first thing we looked for (and purchased) was this wicker sectional sofa (#ad) we found on Amazon. It’s the perfect setting for a morning conversation and a few cups of coffee together. Our family gathers here a lot and it’s also a peaceful place to read, relax, or work. And if you’re like our dog….sleep.

It is exactly what we pictured for our screened in patio. We love the turquoise color that adds a really nice pop to the area. We had been thinking and looking for a while about what we wanted – something that was similar to the outdoor furniture that we see at the Sandals resorts we go to. It’s very similar and about half the price of everything else we found. The whole thing came in six boxes. It was light enough for my husband to lift and light enough for me to scoot (ha!). It took a couple hours to assemble two chairs and the coffee table (by myself because I was trying to surprise my husband for when he got home), but I waited to finish the rest with him and it was a breeze when there was both of us assembling.

If you’re looking for something like this, we can’t recommend enough (especially since it’s even cheaper than when we bought it at peak season). I think our dog would say the same, since she clearly dominates it in the pictures!

  1. Hey just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.
